Extended Canopies

What are the benefits of an extended canopy for stables?
Extended Canopies

Having a canopy to the front (and potentially the rear) of your Stable is a must for all horse owners as they protect you and your horse from the weather and help keep the inside of your units nice and fresh.

All of our Stables and Field Shelters come with a 1.2m (4') canopy to the front as standard to give you this protection. Many of our clients also choose to upgrade to an extended 1.8m (6') canopy for even more protection. The extended 1.8m (6') canopy option comes with attractive 150mm x 150mm pressure treated support posts, headers and curved bracing to the front of all units.

This additional depth allows space for your horse to be tied up outside his Stable completely under cover, perfect for the farrier or grooming in these winter months. And as we all know a dry farrier is a happy farrier!Below are some perfect examples of an extended 1.8m (6') canopy:

The below shows an example of a front and rear canopy. This client added American Barn Top Stable doors to their Chester Stables for added air flow and light within the stables. As such they asked us to incorporate a rear canopy to match the front, keeping horses dry in the wetter months and shaded in the summer. A rear canopy can easily be added to your Stable or Field Shelter design.
