A field shelter for all weathers

Our mobile field shelters provide a quick, convenient and flexible shelter for horses and livestock, without the need for planning applications (in most instances) and avoiding expensive groundworks. Protection from wind rain and snow in winter and shade from the sun in summer, the mobile shelters come complete with skids to allow the building to be towed around a paddock or field by tractor or strong 4x4.

A flexible and cost-effective mobile horse shelter

Chart field shelters are well specified as standard and include chains, anchor points, guttering and anti-chew strips around the doorway openings. We line to 4' high (1.2m) with OSB for rigidity and protection against kicking and offer the option to choose between standard pressure treated timber skids or galvanised metal skids. As expected of a Chart equestrian building, all mobile field shelters are constructed from FSC certified pressure treated timber for longevity sourced from a select group of approved sawmills.

From a muddy paddock to a sun-drenched field or horse yard for extra stabling in winter, a mobile field shelter is incredibly flexible - one of the most adaptable stabling and storage options we sell.

We have two well-specified ranges which can be adapted to your exact requirements. The most popular being Clipper or for particularly exposed locations we recommend the Chart Range. A good value mobile field shelter option, ideal for a wide range of animal husbandry as well as storage for hay, feed or machinery. Made from pressure treated timber, with a choice of galvanised metal or timber skids, they can be moved with a 4×4 or tractor.

75mm x 50mm (3' x 2') pressure treated timber frame.
1.2m (4’) canopy to the front.
2.4m wide opening(s).
Pressure treated timber or galvanised metal skids.
OS kickboarding to 1.2m (4′) high.
Each mobile field shelter is supplied with a heavy-duty towing chain.

Our premium Chart Range field shelters bring enlarged framing (recommended for exposed locations) , galvanised anti-chew strips to the vertical side of each opening with a timber slip-rail and galvanised brackets plus with thicker kickboards.

Increased framing size to 100mm x 50mm (4″ x 2″).
Timber skids (max size shelter 7m x 3.6m). Galvanised metal skids 80mm x 80mm standard on larger sizes or option on small sizes.
Slip rail and galvanised brackets to opening.
Thicker OS kickboarding to 1.2m (4’).
Galvanised anti-chew strips are fitted to the vertical sides of each opening.

Options

Our timber buildings are designed to your specification, so you can choose from a number of different options, including roofing, cladding, lining and features/fittings. Depending upon the range of building you choose, some of these options are included as standard and a few are only available on a particular specification/range.

Onduline is a tried-and-tested roofing material. Black Onduline is supplied as standard, but red, brown and green are also available.

Onduvilla is a popular alternative to Onduline but offers a tiled effect design. Available in black, shaded brown and shaded red.

Felt is a durable and economic way to weatherproof your timber building & are available in a choice of colours.

Felt & Felt Tiles

A smooth planed, rebated board that finishes with a grooved effect available in Ex 16mm x 150mm or Ex 19mm x 150mm nominal sizes.

Shiplap

A sawn tapered, overlapping board, available in Ex 22mm x 150mm or Ex 32mm x 175mm nominal sizes.

Weatherboard

OSB is a strong and durable lining material. Offered in differing sizes for lining throughout the Chart range.

OSB Lining

Available as an upgrade or option across our ranges is full and half height ply lining.

Ply Lining

Mobile field shelters and mobile stables are all fitted with a galvanised towing chain.

Anchoring points are positioned on either end of our mobile stables and field shelters.
