A versatile equine shelter

Static field shelters are incredibly flexible timber buildings that are designed to complement our stables range. Ready for use as a shelter for horses, overflow stabling, foaling pen or machinery store - a field shelter is normally positioned on a concrete base in a horse yard or paddock.

Shelter, stable or store

Hand made from FSC certified carefully selected pressure treated timber a Chart field shelter is sometimes described as the Swiss Army Knife of equestrian building.

You may need extra shelter for horses in winter, temporary stabling or a quiet area for a vet or farrier. Alternatively, a field shelter can be a feed store or home for machinery - specify your building with gates, doors or standing opening. Our Clipper Range of static Field Shelters offer long-lasting timber framed buildings at outstanding value for money. Protect your animals from the cold winds in winter and from the summer heat or perfect as an implement or free standing hay store.

  • Pressure treated 75mm x 50mm (3' x 2') timber frame.
  • 1.2m (4′) canopy to front of Field Shelter.
  • OS kickboarding to 1.2m high.
  • Black Onduline roof underlined with OS boards.
  • Guttering to front.

With significant design upgrades, the Chart Range of field shelters include more robust framing, thicker kickboards, anti-chew strips fitted to the vertical sides of shelter openings, with timber slip rails and galvanised metal brackets.

  • Upgraded pressure treated timber frame 100mm x 50mm (4' x 2').
  • External and internal pressure treated timbers throughout.
  • 1.2m (4′) canopy to front of field shelter.
  • Black Onduline roof sheeting which is underlined with OS roofing boards.
  • Anti-chew strips fitted to vertical sides of shelter openings with timber slip rail and galvanised brackets.
Options
Our timber buildings are designed to your specification, so you can choose from a number of different options, including roofing, cladding, lining and features/fittings. Depending upon the range of building you choose, some of these options are included as standard and a few are only available on a particular specification/range.
Onduline
Onduline is a tried-and-tested roofing material. Black Onduline is supplied as standard, but red, brown and green are also available.

Onduvilla is a popular alternative to Onduline but offers a tiled effect design. Available in black, shaded brown and shaded red.

Tapco Slate
Tapco looks just like Welsh slate but is manufactured from a recyclable blend of limestone & polypropylene. Tapco Slate will not break or delaminate.

Cedar shingles can be used as an attractive and natural-looking alternative to conventional tiles.

Our Chester Range of buildings are designed to support a variety of clay and slate tiles. Tilling to be undertaken by your own roof contractor.
