A versatile equine shelter

Static field shelters are incredibly flexible timber buildings that are designed to complement our stables range. Ready for use as a shelter for horses, overflow stabling, foaling pen or machinery store - a field shelter is normally positioned on a concrete base in a horse yard or paddock.

Shelter, stable or store

Hand made from FSC certified carefully selected pressure treated timber a Chart field shelter is sometimes described as the Swiss Army Knife of equestrian building.

You may need extra shelter for horses in winter, temporary stabling or a quiet area for a vet or farrier. Alternatively, a field shelter can be a feed store or home for machinery - specify your building with gates, doors or standing opening. With significant design upgrades, the Chart Range of field shelters include more robust framing, thicker kickboards, anti-chew strips fitted to the vertical sides of shelter openings, with timber slip rails and galvanised metal brackets.

Upgraded pressure treated timber frame 100mm x 50mm (4' x 2').
External and internal pressure treated timbers throughout.
1.2m (4′) canopy to front of field shelter.
Black Onduline roof sheeting which is underlined with OS roofing boards.

Options

Our timber buildings are designed to your specification, so you can choose from a number of different options, including roofing, cladding, lining and features/fittings. Depending upon the range of building you choose, some of these options are included as standard and a few are only available on a particular specification/range.

Onduline is a tried-and-tested roofing material. Black Onduline is supplied as standard, but red, brown and green are also available.

Onduvilla is a popular alternative to Onduline but offers a tiled effect design. Available in black, shaded brown and shaded red.

Tapco looks just like Welsh slate but is manufactured from a recyclable blend of limestone & polypropylene. Tapco Slate will not break or delaminate.

Cedar shingles can be used as an attractive and natural-looking alternative to conventional tiles.

Cedar Shingles

Our Chester Range of buildings are designed to support a variety of clay and slate tiles. Tilling to be undertaken by your own roof contractor.

Clay & Slate Tiles

A smooth planed, rebated board that finishes with a grooved effect available in Ex 16mm x 150mm or Ex 19mm x 150mm nominal sizes.

Shiplap

A sawn tapered, overlapping board, available in Ex 22mm x 150mm or Ex 32mm x 175mm nominal sizes.

Weatherboard

OSB is a strong and durable lining material. Offered in differing sizes for lining throughout the Chart range.

OSB Lining

Available as an upgrade or option across our ranges is full and half height ply lining.

Ply Lining

Pressure treated, ledged & braced, lined with ply kickboarding, fitted with galvanised fittings & finished with anti-chew strip capping.

Chart Stable Doors

An opening perspex window with galvanised mesh inside and pressure treated timber frames. 475mm x 600mm (18" x 25")

Clipper Stable Window

Two bladed opening upper window with fixed perspex lower window in a pressure treated frame with galvanised internal bars. 533mm x 915mm (21" x 36")

Chart Stable Window

Double store room or garage doors can be added to stables or fixed field shelters offering wide access for vehicles and kit.

Garage Store Doors

Our three-piece pony door has the bottom stable door divided into two as a low door for ponies, which can be bolted together to create a standard height door.
