Are Your Stables Properly Ventilated?

Effective Stable ventilation is a vital feature of any Stable or American Barn.

Good air quality is essential for your horses' health and well-being; heat, dust spores, odour and mould can all accumulate in insufficiently ventilated Stables. Bad for yours and your horses' health! All of our Stables, American Barns and Mobile Stables are carefully designed to provide correct ventilation for your horse.

Vent grilles are installed as standard to each gable end along with open trusses between Stables allowing free air flow throughout. Large 1219mm wide Stable doors and opening windows allow fresh air to enter and stale hot air to escape. If your horses spend a lot of time stabled, i.e during the winter or due to injury, there are some additional features that can be added into your Stables to increase the ventilation further. Please see various optional extras below:

  • American Barn Top Stable Doors - 1219mm wide and 724mm high (or 915mm high for Chester Range) complete with a fully opening top Stable door, chew strips and fully furnished with galvanised fixings. These doors are perfect to add to the rear or gable end of a Stable or Corner Unit providing the option of having a fully open top door for your horse to look out of and achieving maximum air flow through the Stable. These can also be closed and locked in bad weather or when not in use, maintaining a solid wall to the rear
  • Additional windows - Stables already come with an opening window to the front of each as standard, but for added light and air flow additional windows can easily be added to other wall panels as required
  • Talk Grilles - Standard in the Chart or Chester Ranges, these allow air flow between the Stables and your horses to socialise. To obtain maximum air flow full length talk grilles can be included within the internal dividing panels, similar to standard American Barn designs
